My name is Dara Blaker and I am a Creative Consultant.

As a creative consultant, I work on your project or production as an independent contractor.

I offer my services as a musician/composer, music supervisor, script writer and editor, producer, manager, voice artist, sfx/foley artist, translation editor and more. I also assist others launch their own arts businesses. Be it music, music education, art, literature, etc., I can help you earn a living with your creative abilities.

• I have years of experience.

I have been in the arts for the past 25 years. In 1989, earned my Bachelor’s of Music; Music business and Technology from NYU, cum laude.

My music education company, www.colourmemusic.com, successfully serves Broward and Palm Beach counties in South Florida since 2005.  I have developed curriculum that teaches students as well as trains teachers.  I play and teach several instruments; piano, violin, flute and voice.  My teachers on staff also teach piano and guitar.  Being a musician, I enjoy composing music.  I enjoy writing in many styles, from classical and pop to jazz and scoring for media.  My piano book, “An Introduction to the Piano Works of Turetsky (my maiden name)” is a favorite among students.

I am also a music supervisor who can identify, solicit and negotiate with talent for music.   I can also negotiate with writers for scripts and other needed materials.

• Expanding Horizons

As creative people do, I have branched out into other endeavors. I have gone into script and comedy writing, both long and short form, and have been doing so for the past few years.  I understand what it takes to tell a good story people want to read and see.

I am a voice artist and understand the nuances of both the artist as well as the engineer.  I have done ADR/Lip sync English dubs for HBO Latino’s program Capodocia, corporate video and documentary narration, character voicing and phone on hold.

I have cultivated a very strong network of people in all aspects of the Entertainment Business from artists, writers and musicians to film makers, producers and directors. I hosted a radio show for 4 years called Dara …on Radio; Arts, Entertainment and the Business of it All www.daraonradio.com and have interviewed well known industry professionals as well as up and comers with many of whom I still stay in touch with. Most people in my social circle are creatives as well, birds of a feather and all that…

• Social Media Correspondent.

I am the southeast regional liaison for 411 Voices Media Group 411voices.com and my area of concentration is the arts. One of my recent assignments  was the 2016 Oscars as a social media ambassador for Vanity Fair.

I am a self motivated creative thinker who knows how to take a project from conception to completion on time and on budget.  I’m mature enough to be experienced but young enough to keep things fresh.
